Trees on Dove Run Blvd
Wed, 05/12/2010 - 9:04pm — spoulsonRegarding the trees on Dove Run Blvd: Members of Town Council had a meeting to discuss what to do with the trees. They drove through and photographed the trees in question and described them as “interesting.” Next, they will meet with the developer and the parties that were responsible for planting the trees and will have them tell the town what they can do. If nothing, the town will come up with a plan B. The target is to try and plant prior to the hot summer months, so we may see some action shortly.
New Maintenance Ordinance: Lawn Maintenance
Wed, 05/12/2010 - 9:00pm — spoulsonRegarding grass cutting and general maintenance, the Town just introduced a new ordinance that changes the way the town addresses these concerns. If any lawn grows more than 10 inches in height, the town can notify the owner/renter in writing. The new ordinance calls for First Class Mail delivery and posting a notice on the property itself. This way, the owner or renter is aware they are receiving the letter because it is taped to the house. Then, the town gives them 7 days to cut it. If they don’t in that time, they come in and do it. The charge is $150 per hour. There is not a requirement for further warnings so repeat offenders will continue to be fined.
