Neighborhood Watch Committee Update 5/12/2009
Our first meeting with the Neighborhood Watch Committee and the Middletown Police Department occurred April 22nd and was extremely informative. While many people think of a Neighborhood Watch as a handful of people that drive around in their cars patrolling the development, the Middletown Police Department does not condone active patrols. Officer Brenner has some innovative ideas that will allow us to be the eyes and the ears of our community, while maintaining our anonymity. As a member of the Neighborhood Watch program we will be provided with training and information from Officer Brenner. There will no required or scheduled commitment, but all your efforts will help us to protect our families and properties. This is our community, and if we all work together, we can help make a difference.
We will be holding our next meeting on Wednesday, May 20th at 8:00 PM, at the Middletown Police Building, and we are asking anyone that is interested in hearing more to attend. Officer Brenner will be present to explain and answer any questions regarding the future of our Neighborhood Watch Program. In addition, participants in the Neighborhood Watch will receive a free home security survey and will be privy to the safety presentations offered by the MPD Crime Prevention Specialist.
Coffee and refreshments will be provided.
We look forward to seeing you there!
