Solar Panel Amendment to Deed Restrictions

The amendment to the Dove Run HOA Deed Restrictions allowing for the installation of solar panels has been filed with the New Castle County Recorder of Deeds.

Note: Solar panels should be permitted such that they are affixed to the rear roof and are not a free standing structure. They must be flush rear roof mounted and not placed on an elevated roof top structure.

New Maintenance Ordinance: Lawn Maintenance

Regarding grass cutting and general maintenance, the Town just introduced a new ordinance that changes the way the town addresses these concerns. If any lawn grows more than 10 inches in height, the town can notify the owner/renter in writing. The new ordinance calls for First Class Mail delivery and posting a notice on the property itself. This way, the owner or renter is aware they are receiving the letter because it is taped to the house. Then, the town gives them 7 days to cut it. If they don’t in that time, they come in and do it. The charge is $150 per hour. There is not a requirement for further warnings so repeat offenders will continue to be fined.
